Last 7-9 may, the beautiful city of New York hosted the 2015 AICA Global Annual Meeting, open to all worldwide firms of the network and aimed at promoting deals sharing and connections among the members. The event, entitled “Reaching New Height” was attended by 32 member firms with 56 investment-banking professionals.
The meeting was the opportunity to present a new perspective member, ALPAX, investment banking boutique specialized in M&A advisory services, established back in 2003 by a group of qualified former executives from ING Bank Latin America. The company, with headquarter in Miami (USA), has offices across several countries in Latin America such as Argentina (Buenos Aires), Bolivia (Santa Cruz de la Sierra), Colombia (Bogotá), Ecuador (Quito), Paraguay (Asuncion) and Uruguay (Montevideo). Alpax brings to AICA a team of 25 professionals and a track record of over 100 transactions valued more than 4 $ billions, thus contributing to significantly strengthen the Alliance’s positioning in such a strategic and vibrant area for M&A like South America.
At present moment the Alliance counts a total of 37 member firms (besides Alpax who will join the network soon), of which 16 in EMEA, 14 throughout Americas and 7 in Asia, with a global coverage in line with major global M&A networks. Future goals include the strengthening of the presence in some areas like Middle East and Latin America, especially Chile and Brazil through new partners and offices.
By our side, we are glad to announce that our managing partner Gerardo Dal Piva has been named member of the Audit Committee of the network, together with our colleagues Peter Wilson from Brazil, Sam Boneh from Israel and Steven Jacobs from USA. Another appreciated appointment and acknowledgment after the board member designation of the last year.
