Annual EMEA meeting 2015 of AICA, Copenhagen

The city of Copenhagen hosted the 2015 annual meeting of our global M&A network AICA – Alliance of International Corporate Advisors, dedicated to the EMEA partners. 41 M&A professionals joined the conference, representing 15 firms from 14 countries.

Finlife participated to the annual EMEA regional meeting of AICA – Alliance of International Corporate Advisors, held in Copenhagen, Denmark last 5 to 7 November 2015. A total of 15 member firms and 41 M&A professionals coming from 14 countries participated to the event that was arranged by AICA’s Danish partner DealHaus.

As usual, the conference, symbolically entitled “One Happy Family”, was the opportunity to share deals, ideas and success stories among the partners, to promote interaction and connections among the firms and to discuss the future strategic plans of the network. AICA is performing well and an overall positive spirit has emerged with good expectations for the coming months.

The Basel, Switzerland based M&A boutique Jurg Kurmann Megers & Acquisitions AG has been introduced as new perspective member to the network. The company, represented by its founder and managing partner Juerg Kurmann, is specialized in buy-side and sell-side transactions, with strong specialization in healthcare, pharma and biomedical industries, boasting over 30 years of experience in mid-market mergers & acquisitions with primary companies and investors. Jurg Kurmann Mergers & Acquisitions AG will soon join AICA, thus providing further coverage to the network in a key area like Switzerland.

The meeting was also the opportunity to officially introduce the new AICA’s Development Manager, Mrs. Amanda Noble-Simmons, which will continue the good work that Mr. Ward Wickwire and Mrs. Maja Berge have been doing for the last few years, and will consolidate and grow AICA in line with its strategic plans. Mrs. Noble-Simmons brings to AICA over 19 years of experience in international marketing, business development and operations having served for prestigious Big4 companies and law firms in UK and Cayman Islands.

Some external guests intervened to the conference, such as Mr. Martin Moser from Scandinavia’s largest bank Nordea, presenting a financial perspective on the Nordics M&A market, Mr. Lennart Meyer Ostenfjeld from Danish leading M&A law firm Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen and Mr. Christian Lindekilde from Black Swan Venture Capital.

Finlife was represented by Gerardo Dal Piva and Alberto Furlan. Our company wants to say a big thank you to the Danish team of DealHaus for arranging such a successful event.

Next appointment is May 2016 for the Annual Global Meeting in the wonderful and suggestive city of Tokyo.
