Report from the 7th EMEA meeting of AICA
Our team participated to the 7th EMEA Regional Meeting of Alliance of International Corporate Advisors, our global mid-market M&A network, held in Stockholm, Sweden last 6-8 October. Great event with 56 delegates from all over Europe, Middle East and Africa reunited in one of the most fascinating Capitals of the Nordics to share projects, ideas, discuss M&A topics and trends.
Our team participated to the 7th EMEA Regional Conference of Alliance of International Corporate Advisors, held in Stockholm, Sweden the past 6-8 October. The event has been hosted by AICA’s Swedish member EVLI Corporate Finance, whose team, headed by Henrik Westling, has done a great job in arranging a very successful and productive meeting in one of the most beautiful and fascinating capitals of the Nordics.
A total of 56 delegates from all around Europe, Middle East and Africa made it to Stockholm to share ideas, projects, discuss M&A topics and furtherly strengthen the cross-border co-operation amongst the members.
Four new firms reinforcing AICA’s European coverage have been introduced to the assembly, such as CMT Advisory from Poland, VD&P from Belgium, YES Corporate Finance of The Netherlands and ALYS Partners of Turkey. We welcome our new colleagues and look forward to starting working together very soon.
The two-days meeting has also seen the intervention of prestigious external guest speakers from prominent Swedish private equity investors and firms, such as Johan Dahlfors, Partner with Bridgepoint Development Capital, David Samuelson from Nordic Capital and Johan Sjo, President and CEO of technology trading group Addtech, who presented the acquisition strategies of their firms.
As usual, AICA’s professionals had the opportunity to present new mandates and leads as well as enjoy “one-2-one” meeting sessions where getting to know better each other, sharing deal ideas and following-up on ongoing cross-border projects. Furthermore, the participants enjoyed presentations by representatives of AICA’s Industry Groups, specifically on IT, Healthcare and Energy, that provided valuable insights on trends, M&A activity and valuations. The purpose of the “sector teams” is that to create groups of experts that make available highly specific expertise and knowledge to all members, improving the overall quality and efficacy of the service provided.
Current AICA’s Chairman Arne Todt (Arthos Corporate Finance, Germany) and AICA’s Development Director Amanda Noble-Simmons together reported on the network’s latest developments and priorities: AICA counts now a total of 40 members, spread on all 6 continents, with 200+ professionals working in 38 countries worldwide. The network is performing very well, co-operation and cross-border deal flow are significantly increasing and new members are expected to join the alliance in the coming months to further strengthen the overall coverage, with a strong focus on Asia. A brand-new website will be launched soon, new Industry Groups will be created and other new interesting initiatives will be promoted in next months.
AICA’s next appointment is for the Americas Regional Meeting to be held in Chicago, USA in less than two weeks.
